My 2020 REading list

One thing that Coronavirus has gifted us is time.
Time to exercise, time in the garden, time to cook, time to binge on Netflix, time to eBay, time to read.
I usually only read on holiday, sat by the pool, with a beer….naturally! This year I have read loads but have to confess that I have substituted Kimberley Chambers and all things Dan Shepherd for books on sobriety. Here’s my list so far:
The Alcohol Experiment – Annie Grace
This Naked Mind – Annie Grace
Alcohol Explained – William Porter
Alcohol Explained 2 – William Porter
The Easy Way to Control Alcohol – Allen Carr
The Unexpected Joy of Being Sober – Catherine Gray
Tired of thinking about drinking – Belle Robertson
The Sober Survival Guide – Simon Chapple
Goodbye Wine Witch – Janie Lee Grace
The Upward Spiral – Alex Korb
Sober Positive – Julia Carson
The Abstinence Myth – Adi Jaffe
Alcohol is Shit – Paul Churchill
Digesting all of these books certainly kept me going in the early months. If I had to pick one for you to read it would be William Porter’s Alcohol Explained as this one is a real game-changer. Closely followed by This Naked Mind. I love Annie Grace. She’s so positive and inspirational. The rest contain a few different angles but they do start to get a bit samey after a while. However, The Abstinence Myth is a bit of a wild card if you want to go off piste. I think I’m done with Quit Lit for now so it’s time to read a bit of fiction.
