About ME

Let me introduce myself….

Marketing Manager, fitness fanatic, marathon runner, would-be Half Ironman (postponement looking likely), keen traveller and up until 5 months ago major alcohol aficionado.

Having achieved the grand total of 3 sober days (or Happy Liver Days as I affectionately call them) in 2019 and not many more in any of the previous 10 years, it was time for something to change. So on 1st January 2020, I started and subsequently completed Annie Grace’s ‘ The Alcohol Experiment’ – a 30 day test of sober living. I quickly followed that up by reading William Porter’s ‘Alcohol Explained’. Both books combined have served to change my mindset and I’m holding on to the clear focus it has given me.

As I start this blog, I’ve now achieved 145 HLDs and I’m still going strong despite the coronavirus lockdown -something I’m hugely proud of.

I want to keep this log of how things are going to try and keep myself accountable. Please help me where you can!

I’m a complete amateur at this sobriety lark however I am constantly reading and tuning into webinars to educate myself and enhance my understanding of the complex grasp that alcohol has on us.

Welcome along to my world of Happy Liver Days.
